Ram-Gear runs crane service that matches how pumping units actually get worked in the field. We tear units down on location, pull the iron that needs shop attention, move and reset complete units, and stay with the job until you are back online.
What our crane service does
- Tear down pumping units safely on the lease
- Pull and haul saddle bearings, tail bearings, and wrist pins that need repair or replacement
- Coordinate with our Alice shop so repaired parts go back on the right unit
- Move a pumping unit from one location to another
- Set the unit back up, align it, and help get it operational again
Teardown and component pulls
When a saddle, tail bearing, or wrist pin fails, you often need more than a parts delivery. Our crane service can tear the pumping unit down on site, remove the assembly that needs work, and bring it to our shop for repair or replacement. When the part is ready, we return to the lease, reinstall it, and put the unit back together so production does not stay down longer than it has to.
We like working with our customers to know which types and brands of units they run on location, and how many of each. That way we can keep rebuilt assemblies in stock whenever possible — ready to swap out in the field so you get back online faster and downtime stays to a minimum.
Move, set, and restart
Need the whole unit somewhere else? We tear it down, haul it to the new location, set it back up, and work through the field steps that get it operational again — the same crews who know Ram-Gear gearboxes, bearings, and pumping-unit iron in the shop.
Shop and field as one team
Crane service ties directly to our pumping unit repair and gearbox repair work. Parts can come off the unit in the field, go through the Alice shop, and go back on with one call — not a handoff across three vendors.
